Getting Started

How do I sign up for Link Redirector?

Visit the dashboard and click “Sign in with Microsoft.” Use your existing Microsoft 365 work or school account. If your organization has already deployed Link Redirector, you’ll be granted access automatically. If you’re setting up a new organization, the first user to sign in becomes the administrator.

Do I need to create a separate account?

No. Link Redirector uses Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) for authentication. Sign in with the same Microsoft account you use for Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and other Microsoft 365 apps. There are no separate usernames or passwords to manage.

What Microsoft 365 licenses are required?

Any Microsoft 365 plan that includes Entra ID authentication will work — this includes Microsoft 365 Business Basic, Business Standard, Business Premium, and all enterprise plans (E1, E3, E5). You do not need any specific add-on or premium license tier.

How do I create my first short link?

After signing in, click “New Link” in the dashboard. Paste the destination URL, type a memorable slug (e.g., go/q3-report), give it a display name, and save. Your short link is active immediately.

Outlook Add-In

How do I install the Outlook Add-In?

There are two ways. For individual users: open Outlook, go to Get Add-ins (the puzzle-piece icon), search for “Link Redirector,” and click Add. For organizations: IT administrators can deploy the add-in to all users (or a specific group) from the Microsoft 365 admin center under Integrated Apps.

Which versions of Outlook are supported?

The add-in supports Outlook on Windows (Microsoft 365 subscription build), Outlook on Mac, Outlook on the web (OWA), Outlook for iOS, and Outlook for Android. Outlook 2019 (perpetual license) is not supported.

Why doesn’t the add-in appear in Outlook?

Check the following: (1) Your organization’s IT admin must allow user-installed add-ins or have deployed it centrally. (2) Make sure you’re using a supported Outlook build. (3) Try signing out and back in to the add-in. If the problem persists, contact support@inworksllc.com with your Outlook version and operating system.

What permissions does the add-in require?

The add-in uses ReadWriteMailbox scope, which is required by Microsoft for add-ins that insert content into a message body. We only read or write to the currently open message when you actively use the add-in — we do not access your broader mailbox.

Microsoft 365 Integration

Is Link Redirector hosted in Microsoft Azure?

Yes. The web application is hosted on Azure Static Web Apps and Azure Functions. All data is stored in Azure Table Storage. Your data does not leave the Azure ecosystem.

Does Link Redirector appear in the Microsoft 365 app launcher?

Enterprise plan customers can request a custom app registration that adds Link Redirector to the Microsoft 365 waffle menu for their organization. Contact us at support@inworksllc.com to set this up.

Can I restrict access to certain groups or departments?

Yes, on Professional and Enterprise plans. Creator plan access is scoped to the two configured link creators. Access can be restricted to specific Azure AD security groups or Microsoft 365 groups. Contact us for setup assistance.

What is a pinned link?

Pinned links appear at the top of the dashboard and Outlook Add-In panel for every user in your organization. Use pins for your most important or frequently-used links — company intranet, HR portal, benefit enrollment, etc.

What is a locked link?

Locking a link prevents it from being edited or deleted by anyone except an administrator who explicitly unlocks it first. Use this for compliance-critical links where the destination URL must not change.

What is a one-time URL?

A one-time URL is a short link that automatically deactivates after the first click. Subsequent visits to the short URL return an error. This is useful for sharing time-limited access, temporary credentials, or sensitive documents with external parties.

Can I see who created a link or when it was last changed?

Yes. The dashboard shows the creator, creation date, and last-modified date for every link. Administrators can see this information for all links in the organization.

Billing & Plans

How does the free trial work?

All plans — Creator, Professional, and Enterprise — include a 14-day free trial. No credit card is required. Contact us at support@inworksllc.com to request a trial license and we’ll get you set up within one business day.

Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?

Yes. You can switch between Creator, Professional, and Enterprise at any time — contact support@inworksllc.com and we’ll handle the transition. When upgrading, your new limits take effect immediately. When downgrading, the change takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept major credit and debit cards. Enterprise customers may request invoice billing. Contact support@inworksllc.com for invoicing arrangements.

Security

Is data encrypted?

Yes. All data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.2 or higher). Azure provides infrastructure-level encryption and InWorks enforces HTTPS on all endpoints.

Does Link Redirector have access to my organization’s data in Microsoft 365?

No. Link Redirector only requests the minimum Microsoft permissions needed to identify you (your name, email, and tenant ID). It does not access your email, files, calendar, Teams messages, or any other Microsoft 365 data.

How do I remove Link Redirector from my Microsoft 365 tenant?

Go to Microsoft 365 admin center › Azure Active Directory › Enterprise Applications, find “Link Redirector,” and delete it. This removes the app’s access to your tenant. Contact us at support@inworksllc.com to delete your data.
